About The Main Link

THE WARM LINE IS OPEN EVERY EVENING FROM 6-10PM CALL 570-637-5964

The Main Link's two centers are located in Bradford County Pa.  In response to the changes in healthcare delivery systems that include the concept of mental health consumer involvement in maintaining wellness and relapse prevention (recovery), mental health professionals and consumers from the Robert Packer Hospital Behavioral Science Center developed a plan for a mental health drop-in center. Start up funds for The Main Link were provided by the Guthrie Healthcare System and Bradford & Sullivan County Office of Mental Health. The Sayre center opened in August of 1995 with the members of The Main Link actively assuming responsibilities for maintaining the center and serving on the Board of Directors. In 2004 a seed grant was received from the Human Services Development Fund to open a second center in Towanda. Both centers are operated by members and are used by over 250 individuals.

Mission Statement

The Community Support program provides peer support, guidance, recreation, advocacy and linkages with mental health services for mental health consumers. This is accomplished through The Main Link, a support center run for and by mental health consumers. The success of The Main Link serves to combat the stigma of mental illness and greatly enhances the mental health services of the community.
